24th International Symposium on Mathematical Theory of Networks and Systems (MTNS 2020): 24-28 August 2020, Cambridge, UK

Studying at Cambridge

Call for Papers

For the first time, MTNS2020 is co-sponsored by IFAC. All publication material submitted for presentation at an IFAC-sponsored meeting (Congress, Symposium, Conference, Workshop) must be original and hence cannot be already published, nor can it be under review elsewhere. The authors take responsibility for the material that has been submitted. IFAC-sponsored conferences will abide by the highest standard of ethical behavior in the review process as explained on the Elsevier webpage (, and the authors will abide by the IFAC publication ethics guidelines (

All submissions to MTNS2020 are through the papercept platform

Deadline for submission: January 26, 2020.

Manuscripts submitted as full papers will undergo a peer review process. The length of a full paper must be between four (4) and eight (8) pages and the final version should use the template files available at

The full paper should include a maximum of 5 keywords and a maximum of 3 AMS subject classifications (see

Accepted papers that have been presented at the MTNS conference will be published in the proceedings of the event using the open-access IFAC-PapersOnLine series hosted on ScienceDirect ( To this end, the author(s) must confer the copyright to IFAC when they submit the final version of the paper through the paper submission process. The author(s) retain the right to use a copy of the paper for personal use, internal institutional use at the author(s) institution, or scholarly posting at an open web site operated by the author(s) or their institution, limited to noncommercial use. Any other use of the paper requires approval by IFAC.

Deadline for submission: January 26, 2020.

Extended abstracts will undergo a simplified review process.  The length of extended abstracts must be between two (2) and four (4) pages and the final version should use the template files available at

The extended abstract should include a maximum of 5 keywords and a maximum of 3 AMS subject classifications (see

Extended abstracts presented will be available to conference participants and on the conference website but they will not be published.

MTNS is a major symposium in the general area of mathematical systems theory, networks and control. The symposium is interdisciplinary and attracts mathematicians, engineers and researchers working in all aspects of systems theory and its applications. The symposium is held every two years. Mathematical methods which play a role in the areas mentioned above stem from a broad range of fields of pure and applied mathematics, including ordinary and partial differential equations, real and complex analysis, numerical analysis, probability theory and stochastic analysis, operator theory, linear and commutative algebra as well as algebraic and differential geometry. Application areas range from biology, communications and mathematical finance to problems in electrical, mechanical, aerospace and chemical engineering, and robotics.
